Considering where you could go with your education? Harrogate College is taking applications for September 2022 – and to help you get a feel for studying with us, we’ll be hosting our next open event on Wednesday 8 June, 4-7pm.

This event is your opportunity to discover more about our dedicated campus and experience our supportive environment for yourself. You can also expect to:

  • Learn about our various course options – including T Levels, apprenticeships, degrees and vocational courses, all of which lead to university or full time employment
  • Take a tour of our first-class facilities – from the modern Craft Bistro and training kitchens to the innovative Technology Centre
  • Hear teachers share their passion for their chosen subjects

We are making the event Covid-safe by:

  • Advising all visitors to take a lateral flow test prior to arrival
  • Providing hand sanitiser throughout the college
  • Maintaining 2 metre social distancing across the campus
  • Making face coverings mandatory in corridors and communal areas at all times

What qualifications are available at Harrogate College?

We appreciate no two people are the same, which is why we offer qualifications in a variety of subjects and levels to suit different interests, learning styles and circumstances. These include a range of post-16 options for 16-18 year olds, apprenticeships, degree-level courses and 19+ courses for adult learners.

Our diverse course offering means you can choose to study a:

  • Access to Higher Education Diploma – courses that prepare you for university if you don’t have traditional qualifications (eg. A levels or vocational Level 3 qualifications). These courses qualify you to go in just one year. Our subjects include health science, humanities and social sciences.
  • Vocational Level 3 Qualification – practical courses that give you relevant skills in a range of industries including marketing, fine art and interior design, science and digital. Our courses also provide UCAS points for university.
  • Vocational Level 4 Qualification – higher education courses for people who want to progress to the next level. For example, you can master your finance knowledge with a Level 4 accounting course.
  • Vocational Level 5 Degree – flexible entry-level degrees that further your career without studying a full degree. Available in subjects such as biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences; leadership and management; and games development.
  • Vocational Level 6 Top-Up Degree – a one-year course that complements your Level 5 qualification, bringing it up to a full undergraduate degree.
  • Vocational Level 7 Master’s Degree – acquire practical skills at postgraduate level with an MA in Creative Practice.

What do I need to bring?

As well as your booking confirmation, we ask that you bring the following in order to ensure everyone’s safety and wellbeing:

  • A face covering
  • Hand sanitiser and wipes – hand sanitising stations will also be available across campus
  • Bottled water or anything else that will make you feel comfortable

Will parking be available?

Parking is available around the Harrogate College site.

Will I be able to apply for a course on the day?

Yes! If you pop in and speak to us, our friendly tutors can help you apply.

Will I be able to speak to someone about bursaries and finances?

Yes, we have lots of information around financial support as well as the other support we offer.

What if I don’t know what I want to study?
