International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
If you are an international/English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) student who wants to go to university in UK in the next two years, you will need an IELTS qualification. This course will prepare you for the exams.

You will study listening, speaking, reading and writing in preparation for the IELTS exam which you will need to take at the Centre for English Studies (CES) in Leeds.
Please note, the exam fee is not included in the cost of the course. This will need to be booked separately but your tutor will explain how you do this.
You will develop your English skills effectively. In addition, you will gain the appropriate qualifications in English to apply for degree level courses in the UK.
You will need to have B2/C1 level English as assessed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF or CEFR) before you start this course. This will be assessed on application at an interview.
Mock exams will take place throughout the course, the final exam needs to be booked at an external IELTS exam centre in Leeds.

Upon completion of this course, you could progress to an Access to HE course together with a relevant subject qualification. From this, you could then progress on to a degree.
