    This course ensures those who are involved in the review and approval of personal and premises licenses are aware of their roles and responsibilities under the Licensing Act 2003. Students will also learn the procedures involved in application for a premise license.

    You will be introduced to the skills and knowledge you need to work in the hospitality industry. The course aims to introduce students to the types of coffee that is served in the beverage sector including coffee shops, bars and restaurants. Students will also learn the process of making a drink from growing ingredients to the final product. Other skills such as effective communication will be taught.

  5. Professional Cookery

    If you want a fun and fast-paced career as a chef and love working with food, then the level 2 Professional Cookery Study Programme could be for you. It teaches you a comprehensive range of cooking and food preparation skills, including the preparation and cooking of meat, vegetables, fish dishes, sauces and desserts for a range of events, lunches, evening meals and parties. You’ll also learn the importance of hygiene and health and safety practices whilst working in our purpose built commercial kitchens. You will gain valuable work experience in a local business and start to develop your leadership skills. There is also the opportunity to take part in competitions to showcase your talents. This Programme leads directly onto the Level 3 Study programme. You’ll also be ready to go out and start your career as a commis chef or chef de partie on completion should you choose too.

  6. Introduction to Hospitality

    The Level 2 Hospitality Study Programme teaches you about cooking & preparing food, along with front of house service for a variety of settings.

    Working with fresh local ingredients in our purpose-built commercial training kitchens and bistro, you’ll learn essential skills for working in the sector, including how to cook and serve food and drinks, and how to work effectively as part of a team.

    You will also have the opportunity to be a part of our themed catering events, which are open to the public and sell out quickly! These events provide an excellent opportunity for you to gain experience of real working environments, dealing with paying customers.

    The course also includes a range of units providing an introductory insight into sections of the hospitality industry, such as; customer care, barista, food preparation techniques, food cooking methods and training and development.

    The Programme includes trips and work experience relevant to the industry, alongside improving your maths, English and employability skills to help you in your future career path.

    From this course, you can move onto a Study Programme in a food industry either at front or back of house or other related subject such as business, or gain work as a trainee or commis chef, waiter, wine waiter, barista or bar person.
