To get you there, the Level 2 Hairdressing Study Programme teaches you a wide range of skills that you’ll be using every day in your role as a hair stylist, from shampooing and how to look after a client’s scalp to cutting, styling and colouring hair. You’ll also learn key employability skills for the hairdressing industry and wider sectors while building up your maths and English abilities. With work experience in a salon or a customer service role, you’ll be well prepared to take the next step on completion of this course. From here, you can go onto work in a salon with an Apprenticeship or as a junior, or go on to further your studies and learn more advanced techniques with our Level 3 Study programme.

    If you’re looking to work in the beauty industry, then the level 3 Beauty Therapy Study programme is the one for you, as it teaches you the advanced skills needed for this industry. You will learn a range of techniques including body massage, tanning, electrical body and facial treatments, microdermabrasion and other optional units. You will learn how to conduct yourself to deliver excellent customer service within the workplace. You’ll take part in work experience to put your skills to the test in a professional environment and will also take part in our Employability Skills Passport programme, which allows you to gain wider skills for future employment. This course will prepare you to start work in a spa, hotel or salon as a beauty therapist on graduation. If you want to progress in your studies further, you could go onto a HNC/D in Hair and Beauty Management.

     

    From here you will be qualified to embark on an exciting career which could include working on a cruise liner, being a spa therapist, a beauty therapist, self employment or a salon/ business owner.

  10. Beauty Therapy Level 2

    Most people want to look their best. A career as a beauty therapist can teach you the skills that you need to make this a reality. Starting out with the Beauty Therapy Study Level 2 programme, we will teach you all about the theory of beauty therapy and how to carry out a full range of treatments including manicuring, pedicuring, waxing, and administering facials, eye treatments and makeup. You will also study health and safety, learn client care and essential communication skills, and gain real-world experience working in a salon. This course also provides the opportunity to boost your abilities in maths and English – vital skills needed for effective customer care and communication. From here you can start out in your career as a beauty therapist, consultant or makeup technician, or you can advance your skills further with a level 3 study programme.

     

    After studying, you can progress on to the Beauty Therapy Level 3 course to further your skills. Alternatively, you could also get a job in a salon or as a mobile beauty therapist.
