How much will my course cost?
Full-time education is FREE to everyone under 19*, and parents and guardians will still receive Child benefits for people under 20 studying full-time.
*Subject to status and residency.
Some programmes do include additional costs for things such as registration and exam fees and the purchase of specialist items, equipment or uniform. Additional financial support may be available to help you to pay towards these resources, including our Student Maintenance Allowance.
Student Maintenance Allowance
The Student Maintenance Allowance is made up of two parts: a payment of £1,225 to a small group of the most vulnerable and a discretionary fund for schools, colleges and training providers to distribute. If you qualify for our Student Maintenance Allowance, are studying a full-time course and live more than 2 miles from your place of study, you will also be eligible to receive FREE Transport to/from the College. Please note that the cost of transport will be deducted from your overall Student Maintenance Allowance and that this will vary depending on where you live.
If you qualify for the Student Maintenance Allowance, are aged between 16-18 and you or your parents are in receipt of certain benefits, you may also be eligible for Free Meals. Your application will be assessed for Free Meals when you apply for the Student Maintenance Allowance.
