Here at Harrogate College we have two learning spaces where students can study independently, or with the support of our ilearn staff.

Our ilearn space is home to the ilearn (independent learning) team. ilearn are here to support all students, regardless of age or course, to develop their independent learning skills, achieve their personal goals and feel more confident with study. The team run classes, provide 1:1 support, and in-hub support.

The five areas where we offer support are:

  • Digital Skills such as Google Workspace, and acceptable AI use
  • Future Ready Skills where we can assist with next steps, and use VR to prepare learners for job interviews
  • Digital Sense in which we cover online safety and recognising fake news
  • Independent Skills where we discuss time management and transitioning to the Further Education lifestyle
  • Academic Skills which can help with academic writing and exam preparation
