End of an era: excitement – and nostalgia – builds around campus redevelopment

Posted: October 12, 2026

Harrogate College building entrance

As our college’s redevelopment fast approaches completion, we are preparing to say goodbye to our old building in style.

Principal Danny Wild is calling for anyone with a connection to the campus building, at Hornbeam Park, to join staff for an evening of memory sharing and photographs on Thursday 3 December.

Our current campus block dates to the 1950s and has served the community, businesses, students and staff for decades.

Paying tribute to the building at Hornbeam Park

The public are invited to come along and join us on the evening of Thursday 3 December from 5pm to 7pm, when submitted photographs, displays and videos will be shown along with canapes served by our Hospitality students.

Principal Danny Wild said: “We have been operating from here for 41 years and we know this building has played a major role in the lives of so many people and businesses in North Yorkshire and beyond.

“As we look forward to starting an exciting new chapter, it is fitting that we should also pay tribute to our existing base and remember and celebrate its accomplishments.”

More information and a free sign-up link are available on Eventbrite.

A new era for Harrogate College

Our new campus is set to open at the beginning of 2027.

Students can look forward to developing their skills in cutting-edge learning environments, with the new facilities including a clean energy centre, a replica hospital ward and a digital technology suite.
