Experiment, evaluate, analyse and make discoveries in our science laboratories. Featuring modern equipment, including specialist work benches that allow for different experiments to be performed simultaneously, our facilities can accommodate students studying a variety of scientific subjects.

Whether you’re analysing fingerprints found at the scene of a simulated crime, running tests for protein, or dissecting a mammalian heart, you will do so in rooms that replicate working laboratories – preparing you for study or work in science beyond college.

Featuring familiar tried and tested equipment such as bunsen burners, test tubes and microscopes, and electrical circuits, our laboratory is also equipped with centrifuge machines, reflux and distillation equipment, and microbiology growth and testing facilities. For budding forensic scientists we have the means to analyse fingerprint and shoeprint detection as well as gunshot residue.

Our laboratory boasts large storage areas where additional equipment, chemicals and supplies are stored – ensuring staff can provide students with the equipment and materials they need to investigate, experiment and succeed in their scientific studies.

Bringing lessons to life

Harrogate and District NHS Trust has provided valuable input into our Level 3 Applied Science course. This contribution ensures students are learning relevant, current content, allowing them to gain the practical skills they need to start work in the health industry or continue to higher level study.
