With motor vehicle, electrical, joinery and welding workshops, our purpose-built technology centre allows you to learn in realistic working environments – preparing you to enter the world of work following college.

Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including electrical installation booths and welding bays, you will learn how to use the tools of your trade safely and efficiently. Our construction yard replicates real construction sites – with a mixer and large working spaces.

Bringing lessons to life

Motor Vehicle and Construction students benefited from an engaging visit by Steve Brace, Halfords Trade Manager. Steve provided valuable insights into the diverse career paths available at Halfords, including apprenticeships for Vehicle Technicians and opportunities within their retail and autocentre network.

A highlight of the session was a practical demonstration of diagnostic tools used in vehicle maintenance, which sparked a lively Q&A with students eager to learn about product quality and Halfords’ training programmes.

All participating students received a Halfords Trade Card, offering discounts on tools and parts to support their studies and future entrepreneurial ventures. This collaboration provides our students with invaluable industry connections and real-world perspectives, enhancing their career prospects.
