Course overview
Pharmacy Technicians are registered professionals who support the safe and effective use of medicines in settings like hospitals, GP practices, community pharmacies, care homes, and the pharmaceutical industry. They supply medicines and devices, assemble prescriptions, manage dispensaries, and supervise pharmacy staff. They also offer advice to patients and healthcare professionals, contributing to better outcomes through medicine use. Pharmacy Technicians carry out both routine and complex tasks, often with a high degree of autonomy, using their professional judgement. They work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams, ensuring accuracy, maintaining confidentiality, and communicating clearly with patients, the public, and healthcare colleagues.
