Harrogate College School Liaison team is privileged and proud to work in partnership with schools, colleges and education settings throughout Yorkshire.

Our job is to create and deliver complimentary free sessions and activities to help students discover their post-16 options and plan for their future. Every day we help schools with careers education, offering advice and expert impartial guidance. Whether your school is hosting a careers convention, parents’ evening, drop-in session or assembly, we are the people for you. We paint an engaging and true picture of each of our specialist subject areas through assemblies, careers fairs, curriculum experience sessions, college tours, transition talks and bespoke progression workshops.

Harrogate College School Liaison Team

Harrogate College School Liaison Team work in partnership with schools, colleges and education provisions throughout Yorkshire to provide a variety of information and activities for students to discover their post-16 options. We would like to offer schools within the local authority area of the college our Careers Education, Advice and Guidance activities. Whether your school is hosting a careers convention, parents evening, drop-in session or assembly, we would like to support you.

We can provide information on each of our subject areas, along with updates on the range of courses, apprenticeships and the choice of career options available to prospective students. All our events and activities can be tailored to meet your students’ needs. Additional elements covered include, student finance, how to apply to Harrogate College and student life.

Following our last OFSTED inspection in February 2018, we are proud to announce that the college was awarded a well-deserved ‘Good with Outstanding Features’ grade. Areas awarded outstanding include personal development, behaviour and welfare, and provision for learners with high needs. Our superb staff worked tirelessly to achieve this grade and will continue to do so to be fully outstanding!

Activities we deliver include

  • Provide information, advice and guidance events and activities in schools
  • Deliver school presentations
  • Attend option events and parents’ evenings to discuss course options and progression pathways, welfare and financial questions
  • Promote college open days to year 10 and 11 students, parents / guardians and teaching staff from schools
  • Provide bespoke project work and specific industry led activities with involvement from key partners / employers
  • Arrange educational experiences for school pupils to visit our industry-standard facilities and have a real insight into what college life is like
  • Host tours for pupils and teachers
