Course overview

An introduction to the rapidly expanding Creative Media industries. The course provides you with exposure to media production, games animation development and building digital spaces. You will study concept design and experiment with a variety of techniques and then develop these skills into digital formats, working in our high spec creative studios and computer suites.

You will work on a variety of software packages and investigate technical skills whilst developing underpinning fundamental skills around illustration and graphic design, including sculpture, film, photography, green screen and media design. You will learn how to respond to industry standard creative briefs created by Creative specialists and build your very own professional portfolio with the opportunity to exhibit work at the end of the Year. The course provides you with the foundations you need to access higher level study programmes.

    Four GCSEs at grade 3 or equivalent.
  • Careers/Progression

    Upon succesful completion and an appropriate GCSE grade profile, you can progress to a suitable level 3 course, appropriate routes include Creative Media, Creative Practice or Business. This course will allow you to experiment across all 3 fields so that you can identify where your creative passion sits
