Course overview

Our digital functional skills courses provide learners with access to high-quality provision to equip them with the digital skills they need for life and work.

Entry 3 is aimed at life and Level 1 is aimed for work and includes spreadsheets and documents.

Eligibility requirements for funding, are those adults assessed with IT skills below L1.

The fees per course if not eligible for funding are £450 (for all 20 sessions) as a course fee to cover tutor, exam fees and materials.

One morning per week: Either a Wednesday or Friday

    No previous formal qualifications are required for entry to this qualification.
  • Benefits/Skills

    The course will enable students to initiate and participate in digital and online activities safely, either in the workplace or in other real-life contexts. It will enable you to:

    • to gain confidence and fluency in your use of digital knowledge
    • develop a positive attitude towards the use of digital skills
    • appreciate of the importance of digital skills in the workplace and in life generally
    • applying these to complete tasks and activities
    • provide a basis for further study, work and life
  • Who is this course for?
    Course times are designed in the daytime to suit adults with a busy schedule. This course is aimed at learners that have an interest in developing new or existing IT skills. No previous formal qualifications are required for entry to this qualification.
  • Units/Modules

    There are five categories of Entry Level 3 Digital Functional Skills for life and work:

    • Using devices and handling information
    • Creating and editing
    • Communicating
    • Transacting
    • Being safe and responsible online
  • Careers/Progression
    This course can lead learners to higher level courses. For example, the L1 in Digital Functional Skills.
  • Assessment Types
    Learners will sit an online assessment at the end of the course.
