Social Media/Marketing for Business (The next programme will start in Sept)

Course overview

With such widespread usage and versatility, social media is one of the most effective free channels for marketing any business.

Our fully or partially funded* short 6-week programme is designed to enable you to gain further knowledge and skills within the area of Social Media Marketing. The course will provide you with up-to-date techniques and tools you need to create successful social media marketing plans. The course will consist of face to face theory and practical based sessions. Each session will utilise and build upon the knowledge used in the previous session.

* fully funded for the self-employed and is 90% funded if you apply from a small business, with the business to pay £165

The course will run for 6-weeks on a Monday, 9am-4pm, at our new site in Ripon (Ripon Community House).

  Whilst there are no formal entry requirements for this course, if further information is required before you start, we are here for an informal chat to make sure the course is right for you.

  All you need is enthusiasm, a laptop (or tablet) and a smartphone.

  • An overview of Social Media platforms
  • Content strategy
  • Analytics and campaigns
  • Writing social media copy and creating photos and images for social media
  • Paid social media and influencers
  • Growth and influence
  • Information and Guidance – working in the trade i.e. CV writing, interview and presentation skills and practice (as appropriate)
• Careers/Progression
  This course is designed to support individuals normally resident in York & North Yorkshire to develop skills that will help them access a career path in social media marketing.
• Assessment Types
  During this 6 week course, ongoing theoretical assessments will take place.
