Part time evening course for those aged 19 +

If you earn under £25,000 per year, are unemployed or don't currently hold a level 2 (GCSE level) qualification you may be entitled to study this course for free. If you don't meet the eligibility criteria we will advise you of the cost.

The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Barbering is a vocational qualification that teaches practical barbering skills, including how to cut men's hair and facial hair, and how to consult with clients. The course is designed to prepare students for a career in men's hairdressing and barbering.

• Entry Requirements
  There are no formal entry requirements for the course, but good communication skills are essential. Good English and Maths skills are desirable, but each application will be considered individually at interview.
• Who is this course for?
  Are you interested in a career in barbering? You can be new to the Hair and Barbering industry or an existing hairdresser that wants to expand your knowledge and skills into Barbering. Study with us 1 evening a week from January and learn the skills you need to work in the Barbering industry.
• Units/Modules

  The course covers a range of topics, including:

  • Practical skills: Cutting and styling men's hair, cutting facial hair, and creating designs
  • Consultation: Advising clients on the type of haircut and facial hair shaping that suits them
  • Health and safety: Working safely to protect yourself and your clients
  • Communication: Developing communication and customer service skills
  • Commercial skills: Developing commercial skills, including selling products and services
