Course overview

Do you see yourself exploring your creativity by using print? Our Printmaking course lets you realise your creative potential in the form of prints.

During this 5-week beginners course, you will explore and learn a variety of different printing techniques from Monoprint and Lino Printing to Collagraphy. You will be guided in these processes, starting off with sketches and how to develop these using a variety of printing making techniques. You will learn how to carve and print your own artwork. We will look at composition and imagery to inspire your work.

The course will run for 5-weeks on a Tuesday afternoon or evening, at the college.

  • Entry Requirements
    No experience is needed for the course as this class is for beginners or those that want to further their creativity. All you need is enthusiasm! £200 as a course fee to cover tutor fees and materials.
  • Benefits/Skills

    A greater knowledge and understanding of Printmaking, including:

    • Monoprint - using printing inks.
    • Lino printing - learning to carve your own pattern or image on a linoleum block to print on paper.
    • Collagraphy - using collage to create different images and textures.

    This rewarding course will open up a world of artistic exploration and creativity. Printing also helps with critical thinking and self-expression. This class will give you the confidence to explore the Printmaking mediums a lot more.

  • Who is this course for?
    The course is aimed at those with no previous printing making experience. Drawing skills are not essential as you use tracing paper for some of the techniques.
  • Units/Modules
    Our course includes hands-on practical demonstrations by our tutor. Individual and group work will take place in our fantastic studio space.
