Course overview

English and maths are important skills that will benefit you in many ways, including your studies, your future employment, and your general wellbeing.

Our 5-week summer booster English & maths programmes are suitable for anyone who wishes to build their confidence, upskill, are suitable for parents to help support their children at home or are interested in undertaking their full formal GCSE qualification with Harrogate College from September 2024.

Our face to face step up to English programme will include: creative reading and writing practice, as well as Spoken Language activities that include: responding to questions and feedback. The course will also assess your existing skills and areas for development, in the form of initial and final assessment. The course will give you an awareness of how you can most effectively improve your English level or prepare yourself to study English Language with us at GCSE level.

The course will run for 5 weeks on a Tuesday, 10am-1pm, at the college.

• Entry Requirements
  It doesn't matter what level you're at right now, the important thing is taking this first step. Come in for an informal assessment and we can get you started on improving your skills and qualifications. Our English team is friendly and approachable, and are here to help you with as much support and guidance as you need.
• Benefits/Skills
  The course will give you an awareness of how you can most effectively improve your English level or prepare yourself to study English Language with us at GCSE level. Each session will utilise and build upon the knowledge used in the previous session.
