Jonathan lives and breathes photography, having been the photographer for West Row salons before joining us in 2007. He’s all about helping students feel the wow factor with their first print, and still works as a freelance and documentary photographer today.

For years Fraser worked at the heart of London’s photography industry, producing work for Radio Times, the BBC, and various fashion mags. He’s still a practicing artist and photographer today, in between studying for his PhD. Fair to say he’s keeping himself busy!

From modern to traditional, Jason’s seen all sorts of houses, since he was building them for 21 years before moving into teaching. Today, he enjoys teaching apprentices about the practical aspect of building and passing on his own knowledge.

Steve has been teaching for 17 years now, and what really excites him is seeing students take advantage of the college’s excellent facilities. Before getting into education, Steve owned his own business, which was proudly voted Best Small Provider in Yorkshire and Humber 2016.
- Job Title: English GCSE and Function English for apprentices
Debbie moved into teaching after working as a librarian for 18 years, and loves helping students develop skills they can use in both life and work. Outside of the college, you can find her reading a murdery mystery or sci-fi novel while sipping on a good coffee.
- Job Title: Beauty Therapy, Levels 2 and 3
Steph can relate well to students, as she herself was a student at 16 and even managed her own salon before moving into teaching. Away from the college, she keeps chickens at home but doesn’t like eggs!
- Job Title: Joinery, Level 2
No two days are the same in joinery – and Matthew should know, since he’s been in the industry for over 25 years. He likes blending education with engagement to create a fun relaxed environment for learners to really master the craft.

Sandra is all about helping students see the wider picture. She encourages them to have productive debates regarding issues such as mental health and drug use, and invites external services to come in to discuss county lines and knife crime.
- Job Title: Sport, Level 3
Sport plays a huge role in Andy’s life. Not only does he teach it, he’s also part of the college football team and coaches junior football. With three kids, two of whom are teenagers, he can relate well to students and is always keen to support them in their learning.
