Lynne is a familiar face in the beauty department, having joined us back in 1998. What she loves most about her job is the friendly and approachable staff, and the small group settings so each student can get greater attention and support.

From Cambridge to China, David has taken his love for food across the world – and now to Harrogate College. He loves blending kitchen creativity with classroom learning, as well as the informative trips that let students form employer links. His favourite country is Italy, simply for the food and culture.

From musical productions for primary schools to community projects at Harrogate Theatre, Alex really brings her passion for performance to the Harrogate community. She’s a big fan of practitioner theories such as Antoin Artaud’s ‘Theatre of Cruelty’ – even if the audience aren’t!

Before joining the college in 2007, Ellen worked with students in pupil referral units to develop their skills – and continues to enjoy teaching basic life skills such as planning, shopping and cooking. She always encourages students to be as creative as possible in their learning.

Shelley is a familiar face around campus, having joined the college back in 1997. She has a whole wealth of knowledge in accounting but it’s not all about teaching others, as she loves learning from students too.

Pam particularly enjoys teaching second-year students by helping them plan, design and present health education campaigns. Before joining the college in 2014, she worked across many health and social care settings, including at Leeds General Infirmary, and even worked as a fitness instructor back in the day!

Robin loves the great outdoors, something he’s carried with him since his days in the Navy, where he visited 48 countries as part of the warfare department. He enjoys creating fitness training programmes for students and encouraging them on caving, hiking and wall climbing activities.

Drew became part of Harrogate College last year. He takes pride in drawing meaning from the changes in the social environment, which he enjoys discussing with students. Drew also has the exciting job of reviewing film admissions for the Sunderland Film Festival.

With a PGCE in Chemistry, teaching experience at multiple universities and impressive scientific knowledge, Abdul really is a science genius. He enjoys teaching different topics and always adapts his approach to suit students’ varying needs.
