Course overview
English and maths are important skills that will benefit you in many ways,
including your studies, your future employment, and your general wellbeing.
Our 5-week summer booster English & maths programmes are suitable for
anyone who wishes to build their confidence, upskill, are suitable for parents
to help support their children at home or are interested in undertaking their
full formal GCSE qualification with Harrogate College from September 2024.
Our face to face step up to maths programme is for learners who want to brush
up their maths skills and develop their confidence in, and help grow a positive
attitude towards maths and to recognise the importance of maths in our own
lives.
The course will assess your existing numeracy skills and areas for
development, in the form of initial and final assessment. The course also
includes a range of basic topics preparing students for real life scenarios and
providing a strong mathematical knowledge base for students who wish to study
mathematics with us at GCSE level.
The course will run for 5 weeks on a Wednesday, 10am-1pm, at the
college.

It doesn't matter what level you're at right now, the important thing is taking this first step. Come in for an informal assessment and we can get you started on improving your skills and qualifications. Our maths team is friendly and approachable, and are here to help you with as much support and guidance as you need.

Benefits/Skills
The course will give you an awareness of how you can most effectively improve your maths level or prepare yourself to study mathematics with us at GCSE level. Each session will utilise and build upon the knowledge used in the previous session.
