Course overview

Get a flavour for working in the amazing hospitality industry. As Harrogate's leading employment sector, this course introduces you to the fundamentals of working in the sector. You’ll develop a range of practical skills including culinary basics, table service, barista skills, bar service and fundamentals around health & safety and food safety. You will have the opportunity to work in our trading restaurant 'Craft Bistro', where skills around teamwork, resilience building, customer service and working under pressure naturally develop in a safe and nurturing environment.

This course offers some valuable work experience opportunities to gain insight into the industry and is a great pathway to equip students with the confidence they need to enter any work environment or higher levels of study.

  • Entry Requirements
    No formal entry requirements however, each application will be assessed on prior experience and current level of skill. A grade profile of 4 x GCSEs including Math's and English at level 4 are preferred but not essential.
